EDUCATION
José A. obtained his degree in Mechanical Engineering (5 years program) in 2003 at Carlos III University (Madrid). He obtained his PhD in 2008 at the Department of Thermal and Fluids Engineering at Carlos III University under the supervision of prfessor D. Santana. The thesis of José was focused on the study of fluidized beds hydrodynamics using both experimental and numerical (CFD) techniques.

RESEARCH INTERESTS
Fixed and fluidized beds: particle and fluid dynamics, elutriation and entrainment, heat transfer, thermochemical conversion, CFD…

Energy storage: development of new storage systems using Micro Phase Change Materials (MPCM) in fixed and fluidized beds.

Heat exchangers: modeling and optimization of heat exchangers and heat exchanger networks.

Solar energy: development of new collectors designed for architectural integration.
