EDUCATION
Mercedes has a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and a degree as Ingénieur Supérieur from the Ecole Centrale de Marseille (1991). After two and a half years working as System Engineer in Empresarios Agrupados (Madrid), she obtained a scholarship awarded by the Ministerio de Universidades e Investigación at the E.T.S.I. Aeronáuticos (UPM). She presented her PhD Thesis at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in 1998 where she became associate professor in 2002.
